Arthur George Thomas Bailey was born in Bottisham on 24th March 1916 (Newmarket Q2-1916 3B:863), son of Arthur and Gladys Mary BAILEY (née CORNWELL)
of Bottisham. In the 1939 register he was a bricklayer's labourer, living at 4 Council Houses, Bell Road, Bottisham with his father Arthur BAILEY [22-2-1897] a roadman/traffic guide; his mother Gladys M [3-9-1895] (later to re marry as MOULDING); brothers James W [23-4-1917] motor van driver/bread delivery and Leslie D [17-8-1925] seeking work, not previously employed.
